5ᵗʰ & 6ᵗʰ September 2026

Dear Delegates, Parents, and Faculty Advisors, I, Sidh Sundaram, the Secretary General, am delighted to invite you, on behalf of the Secretariat, to the fourth edition of JBCN Oshiwara MUN!  Every generation has been handed problems which it did not create.  Our children and grandchildren will inherit the political instability and environmental destruction we have created. Therefore it is our responsibility to make use of our resources to attempt to salvage the current state of our planet for those who will come after us. There are many ways people have chosen to go about this reform.  Some have elected to work within available systems in search of answers. Others have decided those systems have failed and seek to replace them entirely. The tension between these approaches has shaped history and continues to define many of the discourses taking place around us today. From this tension we bring forth our theme.  This year, JBCN Oshiwara MUN will take upon the theme, World 2026: Resolution vs Revolution. It is all about the question: when confronted with injustice or instability, should change be pursued through reform or rupture? Delegates will have the opportunity to answer this question for themselves at our conference.  The nature of every single one of our committees is intended to put the delegates in situations where compromise inevitably becomes insufficient and taking drastic actions becomes tempting.  At JBCN Oshiwara MUN we have always been trying to create a platform in which ideas will be challenged, not just taken at face value.  Debating, by its nature, does not only mean winning an argument, but being able to leave the room with a greater knowledge of the topic than you had at the beginning. No matter whether you are coming to your first MUN or your fiftieth, approach each agenda with curiosity and strong conviction. Remember, the best MUN experiences usually come unexpectedly.
